Facebook opens the flow of business developers; Xobni takes advantage of already
April 30, 2009

As we foresaw recently, Facebook has opened its work flow to third-party developers via a new API. Any site or application can now integrate the flow of activities Facebook. The first to have taken advantage of this benefit was SeesmicDekstop for Twitter.
Ethan Beard, director of platform marketing at Facebook told us that the entire flow will be accessible via a single call to the API. Thus a developer can recreate the homepage of Facebook if he wished. We can expect to see early applications mainly around Twitter take advantage of this API.
This announcement will put Facebook alongside Twitter in many office applications with real-time conversations. Whoever has the flow of conversation more interesting dominate the market. The battle of the conversations in real time is open.
Besides Twitter it will probably very soon as many other applications use this work flow which will be integrated into various social sites or in email app. Only flat, Facebook does that allow developers to "hide" the data for 24 h, therefore no possibility of creating a powerful search engine around the stream with results older than 24 hours.
And we have already learned this morning that Xobni, the Outlook extension will integrate in the day the flow of activities (users will not have to install a new version). Until Xobni incorporated the basic information of Facebook, photos, articles, etc ... It will be possible to follow the work flow of your friends directly from Outlook.
